I am so excited about this new section. The Lifestyle section at Totally Buffalo will be filled with great advice, fun stories, important information about health and family, restaurant and theater reviews, and so much more! I want to introduce you to our amazing contributors! They are some of the smartest, funniest, and coolest folks in Buffalo and WNY! MJ is the owner at Cooked Buffalo, a local, gourmet meal company. The daughter of Sicilian immigrants, MJ learned how to cook from an early age, and prides herself on feeding her family, friends, and people in her hometown of Buffalo. MJ is also a special education teacher in Buffalo. MJ will be sharing healthy eating ideas, tips and yes – even some of her delicious recipes!! Check out Cooked Buffalo.
John Pirrone is ecstatic to be joining Totally Buffalo’s team as their Arts and Entertainment contributor. John is no stranger to Western New York’s night life as he is most recognized for playing in one of WNY’s longest running shows–Tony n Tina’s Wedding. For the past 17 Years, John has played the role of the Brides brother, Joey Vitale. With over 400 performances in the same role, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding remains his favorite role to date. John has appeared in close to 100 shows across Buffalo, Rochester and Long Island. He is also the Producer and Co-owner of Red Carpet Theater Productions.
When John is not performing, his day-time position is as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Respiratory Services of WNY. There, he takes care of critically ill adult and pediatric patients who are in need of life support in the home. Respiratory Services of WNY has been servicing patients for close to 20 years and John is proud to be a part of a team that make a difference in the community.
Over the past few years, John has become a Wedding Offciant performing weddings for couples through Western New York. John is ordained in all fifty states and custom creates a unique ceremony that the couple will cherish for a lifetime.
As part of John’s Arts and Entertainment segment, he will not only bring you information and reviews on local theater, he will also focus on Western New York’s array of diverse restaurants and eateries. He will encapsulate the dining experience and relay that experience to readers.
Darcy Thiel, MA
Darcy Thiel, MA, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY State. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. Ms. Thiel is a couple and family therapist in West Seneca, New York and has served as an adjunct professor at Medaille College in Buffalo. She is also an accomplished speaker and presenter on various topics throughout the Western NY area. She is the proud author of Bitter and Sweet, A Family’s Journey with Cancer, the prequel to Life After Death, on This Side of Heaven. Erin Hayes Moran
Erin Moran is a wife, mama, photographer, mental health advocate and recovering yeller. She
is a military brat with Buffalo roots raising her three kiddos with her amazing husband in the
city of good neighbors. Almost a year ago she undertook a personal challenge to stop yelling
at her kids and along the journey has found tips, tricks and tools to help moms and dads

Growing up in the industry, Ciara always knew that working in her family business was what she wanted to do. After studying marketing at Canisius College, and Fashion Merchandising Management at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Ciara landed every girls dream job : working in the fashion department at Teen Vogue Magazine. Missing her family and friends, Ciara gave up life in the big city and relocated back to her hometown of Buffalo, NY.
