Liam Lynch is a fun-loving and tough little boy. He’s an amazing friend and brother.
He loves legos, video games, soccer, camping, swimming and the BUFFALO BILLS! He’s such a superfan, in fact, that Josh Allen had the 10-year-old’s name on his cleats – along with other children battling cancer.
Liam Lynch was getting back to life, getting back to school and getting back to soccer. He rang the bell at Roswell and his family was hopeful that his cancer was behind him. Sadly, that is not the case.
Last week, Liam had a stomach ache which led to a new diagnosis – an even more aggressive form of cancer. Liam has T-Cell ALL – Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He is currently in Oishei Children’s Hospital receiving aggressive inpatient chemotherapy until the end of March and then will hopefully progress to the bone marrow transplant phase. That means staying at OCH another 4-6 weeks after that depending on his response to treatment.
The community, including teachers, staff and students at Errick Road Elementary where Liam is a 4th grader, is rallying behind the Lynch family. They’re working with Connect Life to host the Love for Liam Blood Drive. It will be held on Thursday, March 30th from 12-7pm at Errick Road Elementary School at 6839 Errick Road, North Tonawanda.
Other activities and fundraisers are in the works, too.
I talked with Liam’s mom, Liz on the phone and asked what he would love, what could we do, something Liam would really get excited about. She said a hot tub. So here we go – there is absolutely no way we are NOT getting Liam that hot tub.
Our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares is hosting a Facebook Fundraiser. Every dollar raised will go towards that hot tub and anything remaining will go directly to the Lynch Family. Please help if you can!!!
We will continue to update this blog and bring you new ways to help this wonderful family.
