Heartbreaking and Heartwarming. Have you heard about this story? It doesn’t have much to do with Buffalo – except for the fact that this soldier is making sacrifices for all of us. Plus – I think we can all agree it is a beautiful and heartbreaking story and I figured we can all send some Buffalove their way.

A soldier was stuck in an airport after his flight was delayed & a fellow passenger snapped this photo of him as he watched the birth of his daughter on FaceTime. She said he was crying and her heart was breaking.

“When we heard the baby cry, we all rejoiced for him. I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us every day and the sacrifices they make.”

Brooks Lindsey of Brandon, Miss. was watching as his wife, Haley Lindsey, gave birth to their daughter Millie.

Fellow traveler Tracy Dover posted about the beautiful moment she witnessed. She wrote, “He had to watch the birth of his daughter on FaceTime. He was crying and our hearts were breaking. We all gave him space. When we heard the baby cry, we all rejoiced for him.”

Dover added she wanted to share because, “I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us every day and the sacrifices they make.”

We couldn’t agree more. We are so thankful and grateful to Brooks Lindsey and all those who protect and serve for our freedom and safety.

Lindsey was able to get to the hospital to meet his precious new bundle of joy. The proud father posted a photo of himself with Millie in his arms on his Facebook page.

Brooks Lindsey is part of the 2nd Battalion, 114th Field Artillery Regiment .

Welcome to the world, sweet Millie.

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
