From City of Niagara Falls Mayor Dyster:
“High wind in downtown Niagara Falls, NY has created a pedestrian hazard as a structure atop the Hotel Niagara, currently under renovation, has collapsed and is in danger of falling. Police and fire are restricting vehicular and pedestrian access to endangered areas until the situation can be addressed. Please follow their instructions. Since some surface parking lots in downtown Niagara Falls have been closed due to hazardous conditions, we have opened the Rainbow Center ramp for use without charge during the emergency.”
The building at 201 Rainbow Boulevard. The 12-story hotel was built in 1923-1925 and has been undergoing renovations.
