Buffalo tops another list! This time for having more female breadwinners than any other city in the U.S (for large metro areas). That’s according to the new information from the Census Bureau.
The number of married couples in which the wife is the primary breadwinner has risen dramatically over the past several decades with rising female education levels and declining wage gaps.
The report show that the Buffalo region (Buffalo, Niagara Falls) has the most households where the female is the breadwinner in the family. Buffalo’s share of female breadwinners is 33% – with an average income of $70,000 – the men in those households earn an average of $33,000.
