A college sophomore from Orchard Park is recovering after a brutal attack.  The photo shows how severely the young man was beaten.

Josh Bernas was walking with friends in Batavia when the four of them were physically assaulted. Josh was left in very rough shape and family and friends are trying to ease his burden by collecting funds for medical bills. A GoFundMe Page has been set up for the Genesee Community College student.

It says – in part,

” While walking home Josh and three other of his friends were physically assaulted and attacked with weapons including baseball bats and a gun. Josh was left in very critical condition after being struck in the face and back of the head with a baseball bat leaving him unconscious. After being rushed to the hospital and treated 3 of the victims were thankfully able to be released. However, Josh’s injuries forced him to be admitted to the Trauma ICU with bleeding on his brain, a broken upper jaw, all of his top teeth knocked out, and bottom broken teeth-on top of cuts and bruises covering his whole body. As of now the injuries to his mouth are still too serious to perform any surgery, but the future holds very intense and expensive oral surgery on top of the already mountainous medical bills acquired. Josh has been and continues to be a wonderful son, loving brother, caring friend, and devoted teammate even in this unimaginable time. We, as a family, are coming together to ask for assistance in his time of need. We are hoping that those whose lives he has touched will pay his kindness forward with their own and help alleviate some of this financial burden that this violent attack has left Joshua with, so that he can focus on healing and a speedy recovery.”

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
