Could be because of the cold weather. If the ring was a little loose and the cold shrunk his hand a little, all he needed to do was clap and it’s gone!

It’s easy on cold weather when your fingers shrink and you are taking g your gloves on and off..the ring probably got caught in the glove and then fell out
If they took their glove off, the ring could have gone with it.

Just a quick thought, you might just want to say there’s an engraving in ring & not share details publicly, then share it in the woman’s personal email, only bcuz some jerks on here might copy your info & reach the lady before u & claim it there’s if it’s the one…just trying to help….good luck!
Years ago I lost my wedding ring exactly how they described. Cold hand, ring becomes loose, pull off the gloves outside and the ring flew off into deep snow. Never found it.
Thought it would be in the glove, too, but it was not.
The cold will shrink your fingers. Probably just came off with his glove. Sad for him

I lost mine 18 yrs ago at work it had my month day and yr ingraved omg I was so upset I never did find hubby bought me a new one but the same I hope the owner claims it
