Special Ed teacher turns love for cooking into a booming business!

MJ Cimato is a busy lady these days.
She’s a teacher. A mommy. Oh, and she cooks between 175-200 meals a week! Yep. 175-200.
I don’t know about you, but I can hardly keep up with my handful of home-cooked meals every week!
We’ve heard about this trend – pre-cooked, ready-to-eat meals are all the rage these days.
And here in WNY – there are quite a few to pick from – including one of the newest, Cooked Buffalo.
This business idea came from a very interesting place. It all started when MJ, a 7th and 8th grade special education teacher was expecting her first baby, “I started it because I love cooking and when I was pregnant I had to be careful what I was eating, and I realized I could make healthy taste good. I ate the same way after I had the baby, and dropped all my baby weight right away.”
That was that. The teacher started to moonlight! Cooking meals – healthy, tasty meals. We’ve tried them and they are delicious. MJ uses locally grown, fresh products. She’s already developed quite a following, too. She rents out space out of the Quaker Bonnet bakery on the west side for her cooking. Hundreds of home-made meals for those busy folks who love the taste, convenience, portion-control and cost of the gourmet dishes.
The young mom serves dishes like, Caribbean Dream (a spicy jerk chicken), El Chapo (fajitas with rice and beans), and Harvest Moon (apple cider braised chicken). Those are some of Cooked Buffalo’s most popular dishes, but there are many to chose from. Menus change up to keep things fresh. The meals are made for you and delivered to you!
For more information, contact Cooked Buffalo at 716-427-4834 or head to her Facebook Page, Cooked Buffalo.
MJ always has specials – right now – new customers can get 3 for $20 meals for new customers.
