Amazing Grace: This Baby Girl Will Totally Inspire You.

News
Grace Korba is an adorable 20-month old who inspires everyone around her, especially her mother. "She brings so much love to our life," Candice Streebel says of her daughter, "She teaches us to never give up." As Candice explains, it's been a long road for her family. "When I was pregnant with Grace, we were told after very detailed testing that she would more than likely not make it to delivery. Her brain scans were so abnormal. After a second opinion was had, it was decided that more than likely Grace would be born and would need to spend a lot of time in the NICU and require machines to live." The family agreed that fighting was their only option. They bought superhero capes and stayed motivated for their super fighter,…

Good Neighbor, Lifestyle, News
Our friends at PUNT FUND shared this amazing story and we wanted to pass it along because it is incredibly heartwarming! We know Buffalo is the City of Good Neighbors and here's just another example of that and again - it includes the heroes at the Buffalo Fire Department! When Buffalo Fire Department Engine 1 and Ladder 2 learned about some kids who would be spending Christmas at Oishei Children's Hospital, they knew instantly they wanted to do something to help these little sweeties have a memorable Christmas. So, they did what they often do - they went above and beyond their call of duty. The special group not only adopted a family, they also took time to show the kids what true community and love is all about.    …

Finally, Milk We Can Drink! It’s Lactose-Free and Made Right Here in WNY!

News
We are a family of Lactose-intolerant folks.  It's a bummer.  So, when I first heard about a Lactose free milk coming out from Upstate Farms, I was both hesitant and super-excited. Hesitant because you never know if a product's promise is real and also because I've tried some Lactose free milk in the past and the taste wasn't worth it! Excited because there are obviously plenty of health benefits in milk and I haven't had milk in a long time. The same goes for my older girls. It's just not worth the after-effects.  So, I went to the grocery store and picked up some Upstate Farms Milk for Life Lactose Free Milk!  It's packaged up nicely - you can't miss the Farm Fresh Lactose Free promise on the plastic jug.…

Help High Schooler With Brain Tumor Go To Walt Disney World

Good Neighbor, News
This is the most giving community in the nation, which is why I know we can do this. Here's the deal. Thomas Jay is an 18-year-old from Amherst.  Right now, instead of worrying about things like homework and dating, he's fighting for his life. Thomas has a brain tumor and he is losing his vision. Our friends at Hope Rises are raising money to send Thomas on a trip of a lifetime. They've asked us to help out by sharing the story. We are honored to do so. His mother, Amy, tells Hope Rises: "In September, I picked up Thomas after school to bring him to his CT scan. He seemed tired that day, but happy to see me. My heart was pounding as we pulled into the parking lot at Windsong…

77-Year Old Man Is Roswell Park’s Longest Active Platelet Donor – We Think That Is TOTALLY Amazing

Good Neighbor, Lifestyle, News
Richard Casseri is Roswell Park’s longest active platelet donor and we think he is simply amazing!!!!! In 1969 Richard Casseri was a member of the New York State Jaycees in Eden, when he was given the responsibility of recruiting blood donors for Roswell Park. In an effort to help boost the project, Richard made a commitment to donate his own blood which was followed by decades of platelet donations. At the age of 77, forty-nine years later he still donates platelets on a regular basis and carries the distinction of being Roswell Park’s longest active platelet donor. He has seen quite a bit over four-and-a-half decades, including a number of nurses and phlebotomists, and the creation of a new Donor Center. Richard has also had friends and family go to…
