Get ready for a big change…
The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING from 1 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany and Southern Erie County – as well as Niagara and Northern Erie County.
These areas can expect heavy snow and mixed precipitation.
Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 14 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth are expected.
*ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.
ALSO –
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday for Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Genessee, Wyoming, Livingston and Ontario Counties. Heavy snow and mixed precipitation expected. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Total snow accumulations of 9 to 17 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth are expected.
