Mayor, Rick Davis announced the news on social media. “We hope to educate the public about brain injuries and the needs of those that have been affected including those families that care for them.”#changeyourmind
Koch said that City of Tonawanda resident, Wendy Verrall (FACTS Coordinator for the Brain Injury Association of NY) has advocated for countless individuals who suffered from a brain injury in our region. Koch and Verrall met to discuss ways the community can promote the Brain Injury Association of NY and to increase awareness throughout the City.
According to the Brain Injury Association of New York State, about 3.5 million people are currently living with a brain injury. That equates to a brain injury occurs every 9 seconds in our State.
