We shared 3-year-old Eva DeLotto’s story on our Facebook Page a few weeks ago and we promised to keep you posted on her battle. Here is the latest – and also a call for action to help the DeLotto family as they continue on their agonizing journey.
Friends have started a GoFundMe Page to share Eva’s medical journey and her family’s need for help. Eva started preschool this year with her twin sister, Emilia. She loves playing with dolls and her big brother, Julian.
Here’s a bit of Eva’s story according to her fundraising page,
“In October 2018, 3-year-old Eva DeLotto was diagnosed with Ependymoma, an extremely rare, stage 3 brain tumor. Her parents, Kara and Richie are experiencing what no parent should have to go through. On October 16th, Eva underwent brain surgery and doctors were able to successfully remove the cancerous tumor. This is only the first successful step in a long journey for her and her family.”
Right now, Eva is undergoing radiation every day for six weeks. It’s a long road but one the little girl is certainly not walking alone.
“However, due to her diagnosis, any illness or fever puts her right back in the hospital unexpectedly, where she has to receive more medical treatment to fight this disease. Because of this intense treatment, her mom had to take a leave from work to be with her during this difficult time. Kara is unsure when she will be able to return back to work.” The Fundraising Team Member Wrote, “On behalf of our family, we are trying to give Kara and Richie one less thing to have to worry about by providing some much needed financial support. There is no amount to small and any amount would be so helpful and appreciated. More importantly, we ask that you please continue to keep Eva and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Kara and Richie are tremendously grateful for your love and support they’ve already received over the past month. Please let us continue this as its going to be a long road ahead of them. Thank you so much!”
