We have a very important update to share. It was brought to our attention there is a Niagara Falls family in need of help. So, we are going to help them!

Anastasia Rafter turns three in just a few days! (April 8th)

This beautiful little girl is away in New York City preparing with her mommy, Lene’e Gray, to have another surgery to slow down the growth of an Optic Nerve Glioma that she was diagnosed with when she was just 8 months old. The tumor has left the sweet little girl blind and dealing with far too much.

She has the most amazing spirit and is always smiling – which blows us away!!!!

The truth is – it’s hard – if not impossible – to imagine what this family is going through. The not knowing, the emotional stress, the physical toll, the financial burdens – all so much.

In total little Ana will have undergone five (5) brain surgeries and a total of nine (9) surgeries all together by the time she is three years old.

The community has helped – we’ve helped out, too.  Now – police and teachers in the Cataract City are stepping up to help out!!!

The Niagara Falls Police Department and teachers in the Niagara Falls City School District are will play a hockey game for this amazing family.

The game takes place Friday night at 7 p.m.  50% of all proceeds will be donated to Ana and her family.

WHAT: Hockey game between Niagara Falls Police and Niagara Falls Teachers.

WHERE: Hyde Park Ice Pavilion, 911 Robbins Drive, Niagara Falls

WHEN: 7 p.m.

COST: Tickets are $5

If you are attending the hockey game tomorrow, please consider Anastasia’s Army when you are purchasing basket raffle tickets and 50/50 tickets and know that your donation is going to help a Niagara Falls family in need.

This is just another example of our amazing community! A HUGE thank you to the Niagara Falls Police Department and the Niagara Falls Teachers!!!!

For Ana’s mom – just knowing they are not alone makes a world of difference, “Completely blown away. Most days, I feel like we’re not being heard. People read about a child with Cancer thinks it’s sad and moves along. And then, something like this happens. I hate that Ana has to go through this, but we are blessed that complete strangers could show us so much love. You’re never alone sweet baby Anastasia. You have a whole community fighting with you. Thank you so much Niagara Falls Police Dept and Niagara Falls Teacher.”

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
