Well this is good news all the way around!

Rowell Park Cancer Institute is adding a Spot Coffee Express Cafe’!

In early 2018, SPoT Coffee will serve its first customer at a new location inside Roswell Park Cancer Institute. This newest SPoT location will be a 500-net-square-foot “SPoT Coffee Express” café centrally located for the convenience of Roswell Park patients, visitors and employees within the comprehensive cancer center’s main lobby at Elm and Carlton Streets in Buffalo.

SPoT was awarded a contract at the conclusion of an open bidding process. For Roswell Park officials, the primary consideration was to partner with a vendor that offered a wide variety of healthy and freshly made drinks and foods delivered with quick and attentive service.

“Given the stresses and concerns that our patients and their loved ones have, it’s critically important that everything about the environment we create is warm, welcoming and hospitable. And an important part of that environment is making sure that we have food and refreshments to comfort and nourish everyone who walks through our doors, on their best, happiest days as well as the tough ones,” says Roswell Park President and CEO Candace S. Johnson, PhD.

SPoT’s Roswell Park location will serve an extensive menu customized for Roswell Park that will range from a variety of coffee and espresso drinks made from SPoT’s own micro-roasted coffees to teas, herbal teas, blender drinks, wraps, paninis, soups, salads, breakfast pastries and lighter fare.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to be part of the Roswell Park community,” says Daniel M. Hensley, SPoT Coffee’s Vice President for Franchise Operations. “There is outstanding care and research unfolding every day within those walls, so it will be a real honor for our team to help support that work and to serve the Institute’s patients and their families.”

SPoT will work with the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation for the donation of products to the Institute and help raise funds supporting research and patient care at Roswell Park through canister donations at all SPoT Coffee locations.

The design and construction schedule for the location are still being finalized, with work expected to start soon and continue for two to three months. The SPoT café will be located in vacant space within the Roswell Park main lobby, allowing for a contained project site and minimal disruption during the construction period.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
