Operation SafeCam allows folks in Niagara County to register their security cameras into a county-wide network.
Registering your cameras may help to deter crime and also assist local police departments with their crime prevention strategies in your neighborhood. Think of Operation SafeCam as a neighborhood watch program for all of Niagara County that’s made for the 21st Century.
If a crime does occur in your area, your local Police Department may be in contact with you to request to view and copy the security video that was captured by your camera.
The video captured may assist in the investigation of a crime.
It’s very clear that registering your camera does NOT give the Police the ability to freely access your cameras – it indicates that you are willing to help if you are asked by your local PD looking for assistance.
All registrant information is kept confidential. You may cancel your registration at any time.

You never know when YOUR camera could solve a crime – or when YOU might need someone else’s camera to help solve a crime.
