They do incredible work. If you’ve never heard of Gerard Place, here is their mission:
“Gerard Place provides housing and supportive services for homeless single parent families. We strengthen families by empowering parents to achieve greater self-sufficiency. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and sponsored by the Leadership Conference of Women Religious of the Diocese of Buffalo, we advance our mission by living by our core values: Compassion, Reverence, Integrity, Collaboration. “
Their mission is so important. Being a single parent is incredibly difficult – let alone being homeless, too. Gerard Place changes lives, helps get people on the right path, makes a difference every single day. They can’t do it alone. Right now they do have some needs that perhaps you can help with.
Here is what they need:
Any type of furniture for their apartments. They have 5 apartment turnovers in less than 2 months.
Twin mattresses
Twin box springs
Twin bed frames
Dressers
Couches
Chairs
Love seats
Kitchen tables and chairs
Night stands
End tables
Newer televisions
Television stands
Lamps (small and large)
They do not take glass top tables, sofa beds or console/large televisions. They are looking for donations that are in good shape and from non-smoking and non-pet households, if possible.
Please contact Joe if you have any questions or can donate any of these items – (716) 897-9948 ext. 105.
Your donation will make a difference by helping families make a fresh start in life. Gerard Place is located on Bailey Avenue in Buffalo.
