All the culture at The Albright-Knox Art Gallery. None of the price. For a week, anyway!

The week of free admission is a popular way for the museum to express its gratitude to all Erie County residents, the County Executive, and County Legislators for their generous support of museum operations. This year, Erie County Free Week will begin Thursday, March 29, and continue through Thursday, April 5.

“As an extension of our mission and vision, we see our role in the community as a catalyst for social engagement, creativity, and learning,” said Albright-Knox
Director of Education and Community Engagement Jennifer Foley. “The funding we receive each year from Erie County supports new and exciting exhibitions, inspiring art classes for all ages, and our very popular Public Art Initiative. We are certainly grateful to Erie County residents for their support, and encourage them to visit and enjoy the spectacular works on display with one another.”

“Erie County is blessed to have an institution such as the Albright-Knox Art Gallery here, with a world-class collection that is constantly growing and changing,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz. “For the next week, county residents will be able to explore new worlds of art here free of charge, getting an up-close look at remarkable art forms. Erie County and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery enjoy a strong and special relationship, and I encourage residents to visit the museum during Free Week to spend some time with some of the world’s most treasured artworks.”

Exhibitions on view during the week of free admission include We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85; Introducing Tony Conrad: A
Retrospective; Matisse and the Art of Jazz; Picturing Niagara; and B. Ingrid Olson: Forehead and Brain.

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
