She is just four years old but little Lily has already made more friends than most adults have!

The little sweetie pie is fighting B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Lily was diagnosed in February after feeling tired and sick for months. She has a very long and tough road ahead of her over the next few months and years.

Lily is a Rockstar and always has a smile on her face even going through all of her treatments. She loves her family and Josh Allen!

Lily was in the hospital from 2/23 until 3/25. She is home now and visits Roswell weekly for spinal taps and chemo. Gina Major, Lily’s Grandmother tells us the little sweetie is tough, “She got her last spinal for this month yesterday. She also has nurses that come to the house 3x a week, for chemo and blood work. She gets 2 shots a day which my daughter Dominique (Major), Lily’s mom, administers for blood clots as they found a small one near her med port. She is a trooper, and you would never know this child is fighting cancer. She has her moments and sleepy times, but most of the time she is a normal, happy, and hysterical 4-year-old. She is constantly singing, she just burst into song at any random moment. She hopes that she can start kindergarten with her peers in September, but time will tell.”

It’s been an especially challenging time for Lily and her family. She was hospitalized at Oishei Children’s Hospital for more than a month. Despite the fact that her extended family couldn’t visit her, Lily’s grandfather made huge signs from drywall so the little girl would know, just by looking out her window, that she is far from alone!

There is an upcoming benefit to help the family financially so they can focus on what is most important – Lily!

The benefit is Sunday June 6th at the Sloan firehall from 1-5pm. They are requesting basket donations, gift cards to local Buffalo businesses and food donations for the hot dogs and hamburgers that we plan to serve. The tickets are $20 and include a food plate, drink, and sheet of raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets may also be purchased. There will also be a 50/50 and tickets will be sold for that at the event. Dave “DJ Jickster” from 97 Rock will be the MC.

If you would like to make any type of donation to the benefit, please email Gina Major at 3dandg@msn.com

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
