Another opportunity to shine the light on the beautiful East Aurora. If there ever was a perfect Christmas village – it is indeed East Aurora!!!!
This Saturday’s Carolcade might be the biggest one ever – and they’re all pretty big!
It apparently all started in 1968 at Vidler’s 5 & 10 with a small group of Girl Scouts.
The next year an ad was placed in the paper asking for more carolers – and the tradition was born. It’s an amazing event that takes over the village one night every Christmas. The first official Carolcade was in 1973.
Pretty much the entire town comes out to sing Christmas carols along Main Street in the picturesque Village of East Aurora.
This year – there’s even more to be excited about. According to the East Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Hollywood producers will be at this year’s event to film it for an upcoming movie!!!
According to the Chamber Executive Director, Gary Grote – Film Producer Fred Ray, who has filmed several Christmas movies in EA will be on hand this Saturday and will use it for an upcoming holiday film.
The crew will be filming Carolcade activities as well as Main Street scenes.
They are encouraging businesses to stay open and shine their Christmas lights to give the best holiday view of our beautiful village.
The Carolcade activities are set for 7 pm, Saturday, December 21st and last an hour.
If you’re doing the math – it will be a tight turnaround with the Bills playing at 4:30. Oh boy!
