The community is coming together to help support Andy Scheider. Andy was involved in a double-fatal accident earlier this month. He was hit by a car that was going over 100 mph – according to police.  The two people in the car that hit Andy died at the scene.

Andy is recovering – his mother sent us a message asking us to share her son’s story.

“It’s a slow recovery for him. Each day we are seeing small improvements,” Andy’s mother Sue Scheider tells us, “Because of the rib injury, he’s having trouble doing simple things like getting dressed, in and out of bed etc. time will heal things but it is slow going.”  Andy also has whiplash and will have an MRI done soon to determine injuries.

Andy’s sister, Lisa started a Gofundme to help with expenses. Here’s what she wrote:

“My brother Andy Scheider was recently involved in a horrible car accident. He was hit by another vehicle who was going over 100 mph after that car ran a red light. My brother was seriously injured when he was hit – you can see the entire front of his car is completely gone. It is a miracle he survived. He now has lots of expenses to deal with, like getting new glasses and a new car, among other expenses. He can’t work for a while due to his injuries, so I am asking for monetary help on his behalf. His insurance will cover most expenses eventually, but not all, and that will take time. He needs money in the meantime to stay afloat. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. He was an innocent victim in this accident and we are trying as much as we can to make sure he doesn’t further suffer, due all of these additional expenses.”

If you would like to help this family – you can make a donation HERE.

It will be a long road ahead but we are wishing Andy all the best.

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
