The community of Grand Island has rallied around and prayed for Dana Papaj ever since the wife, mom and grandmother suffered severe injuries after being hit by a car last summer. Papaj was out walking her dog on East River Road on the Island when she was struck by a pick-up truck driven by Edward Kuebler III. Kuebler took off, leaving Papaj seriously wounded on the side of the road.
Papaj has been recovering ever since. She was in a coma for nearly six weeks, suffering from a traumatic brain injury.
Friends and family continue to support Papaj, who is a beloved member of the community. The staff at Huth Road School, where Papaj worked, have put together a fundraiser for the family. Mark your calendar – everyone is invited.
WHEN: Friday, March 23rd from 5-8 p.m.
WHERE: Radisson Hotel, 100 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island
COST: $20 per person.
If you would like to donate a basket for the raffle – you can drop it off at Huth Road School, just be sure it is labeled “Papaj Fundraiser.”
Tickets may be purchased at the door.
