It’s is a devastating thought. Alex Cruz was visiting family in Honduras when he unexpectedly passed away on March 26th. Now, Shannon Cruz has the daunting task of bringing her husband’s body back home – something that comes with heartbreaking effort and astronomical costs.
Shannon’s brother, Justin Kruse has started a Gofundme fundraising page to help with the costs. Justin tells me his family is overwhelmed with grief, “Our world has been shattered by the death of Alex.”
Justin told me it is – as we all might imagine – an incredibly difficult time for the family.
Shannon was born and raised here in Buffalo, graduated from Buffalo State, became a Buffalo school teacher, before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida where she has a beautiful life with her husband, Alex.
Alex was a massage therapist, a martial arts trainer and MMA fighter.
But more importantly, he was a loving husband and father of two girls.
Shannon and Alex married in 2007. Justin says his family here in Buffalo is simply heartbroken at this unbearable loss and they are working hard to help his sister through this time.

It will be a lot easier now that Alex has been Cremated in Honduras , Shannon has a lot of difficult roads in front of her, her Mother Connie is helping her thru these difficult weeks. We all love this Family.
