It still hurts.

That unforgettable, heartbreaking – wide right loss in Superbowl XXV.

It’s one of the most memorable – and painful – sports events of all time in Buffalo – but it made the list of the best Super Bowls of all time.

So there’s that… 🙁

With the Super Bowl coming up, USA Today put out a ranking of every Super Bowl. That loss against the Giants – made the top ten.

Here’s what USA Today wrote about that game – which came in at number 8!

8. XXV (1990) Giants 20, Buffalo Bills 19: New York played keepaway from Buffalo’s explosive K-Gun offense, holding the ball for nearly 41 minutes, and got nice efforts from MVP Ottis Anderson (102 yards, TD) and backup QB Jeff Hostetler. But the Giants only survived thanks to Scott Norwood’s wayward 47-yard field goal in the final seconds.

Wayward = wide right.

If you’re wondering – the other Bills games ranked near the bottom.

32: (1993) Bills/Cowboys

40:  (1992) Bills/Cowboys

48:  (1991) Bills/Redskins

So where did the other games rank? Check out the entire list at USAToday.com.

Our time will come. It has to!

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
