We continue to shine gold to help bring awareness to childhood cancer – and Boy do we have awesome news to share!!

We’ve told you about baby Carson in the past. Carson Barnhart is ADORABLE and he is one tough cookie! The little guy was diagnosed with a brain tumor at just 5 months old. It was a congenital glioblastoma, which is extremely rare in infants. So rare – there are about 20 diagnosed each year in the U.S.

So it was a long, draining year of treatment, procedures and chemotherapy.

His body fought hard – his spirit never wavered and his family stood ever-so-proudly by his side. They were one – all Carson Strong!

Now, his mom, Kelly Barnhart is sharing some amazing news that we are so very happy to pass along! “We are doing so well! Friday was just the best day.” She told me – with the incredible news that last Friday was Carson’s last day of chemo!  “He’s been working so hard in therapy on walking independently and I had a vision of him walking out of Roswell on his last day and HE DID! Like a boss!!!”

Like. A. Boss.

We are so proud of this little guys – who lights up every single room he enters.

Carson will continued to be monitored – but right now – the family is celebrating, “His next scan is Sept 30th and he’ll have scans every 6 weeks for a while post treatment. In the mean time, his body will take a few months to detox from the chemo and he’ll keep receiving weekly PT and OT. We’re also in the process of adding speech therapy. Although he’s not out of the woods, we’re in a more hopeful place. Next summer, at 2 years, is his next more hopeful benchmark.”

We will continue praying for you, buddy!!! We are all Carson Strong!

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
