The Eagle Energy was felt on March 21st in the North Collins Elementary School gym. The crowd that gathered for Bald for Bucks cheered as DJ Anthony from Kiss 98.5 and Mrs. Marjorie Dintino, 5th grade teacher at North Collins Elementary, announced that North Collins Central School District had crushed their fundraising goal this year. Just 58 students from the district raised $21,000 for Roswell Park. That brings their 15 year total to over $150,000 donated.

Senior Mark Snow has been participating in Bald for Bucks since the 3rd grade. Another senior is a cancer survivor and shaved his head to raise money for cancer research. A third senior is a beautiful young girl who also shaved her head for this special cause.

The highest fundraiser was Zoe Kreinheder who was overwhelmed by emotions and the feeling of support during the event yesterday. As Anthony George, the Lakeshore teacher that started this amazing event 15 years ago to honor his sister, knelt down next to Zoe you could hear the sobs in the crowd.

Zander Miller, the second highest fundraiser, had his dad shave his head so he could honor his many relatives and friends that have been affected by cancer.

Today those 58 bald heads are walking the halls of North Collins Schools feeling pride that they raised such an amazing amount for Roswell. They have no idea the impact they have made, but their selfless act has no doubt changed many people that were in that crowd yesterday.

Amazing job to the kids and the entire North Collins School District!!!!

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
