If you know me, this would not be a surprise, but I am a very passionate person. If I say I love you a million times it’s because I do, and I mean it. I wasn’t always this way…as a kid I used to be shy and reserved about expressing myself. But when my grandmother unexpectedly passed away before my 13th birthday, something in me changed. I wished I had taken the time, and courage, to tell her how I felt about her. She was wonderful in every way. In those days of grief, I resolved to be vulnerable, from then on, in telling people what they mean to me – with no regrets. Because not only was I cheating them of something beautiful, I was cheating myself.
So in the busyness of life & many distractions, the best gift I can give my family this Valentine’s Day is to tell them how I feel & that I am grateful for them. I am using this jar to do it.
One for each of them, filled with notes of why I’m thankful for them individually. With the only rule to just pull 1 or 2 a day to read, so they can let it sink in enough to bless them.
Gifts are more than we may realize, they are an expression of how we feel. For many, finding that perfect gift can be a challenge. I’ve put together a lookbook of some great gift ideas here to get you started.
It includes WNY artisan throw pillows, Zandra (Buffalo Made!) Lotions, Lip Balms & Bath Scrubs, GORGEOUS locally handmade inlet wood cutting boards (for the family chef!), and of course, the “Thankful Jars” to name a few. I think you’re going to like it!
So this Valentine’s I challenge you to give a gift that says “I love you”. Whether it’s shopped for with love, a note in a jar, or just words spoken that someone very much needs to hear. Do it.
Have a Happy Valentine’s Day, with no regrets . ❤️
Deb
Thank you for the reminder! It’s so easy to take the people in our life for granted. Your sweet spirit is inspiring!
