We. Love. Picnics.
Like, love them!
I mean how awesome are picnics? You’re outside. You’re with the people you love the most. You’re not worried about making a mess. You’re enjoying nature. You’re eating some good food.
Sounds like perfection to me!
If you’re planning on doing some picnicking … here are some must-haves.
- A blanket (or two)
- Sunblock
- A cooler with plenty of cold water and or other beverages
- Finger foods; sandwiches, fruit, veggies
- coloring books and crayons
- bubbles 🙂
Now that you have your picnic accessories, it’s time to actually picnic. Here are some of our favorite places to set up:
Chestnut Ridge Park, 6121 Chestnut Ridge Road, OP
There’s plenty to do here. Playground for the kids, nature, hiking trails.
Reinstein Woods, 93 Honorine Drive, Depew
We love it here. There are several trails you can take and a gorgeous lake. You can walk for as long as you’d like – as you watch for wildlife.
Oppenheim Park, 2713 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield
Bring your kids suits on a nice day and check out the splash pad. There’s also plenty of playground fun to be found as well. Picnic at a table or spread your blanket on the grass!
Niagara Falls State Park, Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls State Park is the country’s oldest state park. It’s beautiful, there are plenty of open areas to picnic and it always feel nice to be close to the water!
Tifft Nature Preserve, 1200 Fuhrmann Blvd, Buffalo
Talk about the great outdoors! This is a beautiful and peaceful refuge where you go and enjoy nature at its finest. Birds, wildlife, plants and more.
Glens Falls, 5565 Main Street, Williamsville
Walk your way to the beautiful falls, set up your blanket and enjoy every moment. It’s quiet, gorgeous and not a super-long walk for the little ones.
