When Jim and Danielle Fleckenstein heard that kids with the Young Athletes Program lost their training facility – they knew they just had to help. So, they opened the doors to their gym, Rolly Pollies – free of charge to the group. And boy, are they glad they did.

Sunday morning, dozens of athletes spent time training hard for the WNY Special Olympics.  It is something special to watch these amazing kids work hard to accomplish something on behalf of all of us. The training helps the kids develop physically – and also helps them to build self-esteem and confidence – while being with other children in a great social setting.

The athletes will train at Rolly Pollies once a month until the games begin. For the owners of the local kids’ gym now with three locations (Orchard Park, East Amherst and North Buffalo) this was a no-brainer, ”

“This amazing Young Athletes program matches well with Rolly Pollies’ mission of developing a child physically, emotionally and socially to build self-esteem and confidence needed for a healthy and successful life. Seeing these beautiful children and their families working so hard in our gym is amazing and we can’t wait to watch them at the Special Olympics Games!”

Western New York Special Olympics is a wonderful organization for children with special needs and their families.

Good luck to the amazing athletes! We can’t wait to cheer you on!!!

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
