We first told you about sweet Evelyn a few weeks ago  the baby was diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid Rhandoid Tumor (AT/RT). It is a rare and fast-growing cancerous tumor of the brain and spinal cord. This is a challenging diagnosis with a long and difficult road ahead. The family is truly relying on prayers, positive energy and support from their community. They are ready to move forward, investigating treatment options.
If you can help this family – here is a gofundme page started for baby Evelyn and her family
I was asked to share sweet Evelyn’s story and of course, I’m happy to do so. This local family could really use our help. Evelyn is a beautiful 7-month-old little baby girl with an invasive, large brain tumor that can only be partially removed through surgery. She is likely going to need multiple surgeries, radiation, and other treatments.
Her family wants to give her the best care possible, which is likely to require some travel and will definitely require time off work. Expenses are already mounting, and they will only climb higher. It’s hoped through fundraising, that Evelyn’s parents, Katie and Nick won’t have to worry as much about money, and instead devote all of their time, energy, and effort to their baby girl.
Evelyn had been a happy, healthy baby during her first six months. But, she began to have problems, she held her head to one side, and seemed uncomfortable. She was diagnosed with stiffness in her neck and started physical therapy. Soon, her condition worsened. Evelyn was admitted to Women and Children’s Hospital on July 6, 2017 where test results showed the large tumor.
Friends and family of Katie and Nick Maciag are hoping that you can help the devoted parents. They’re asking for prayers and any financial help possible through the gofundme page set up for the family.
Thank you so much for sharing my Niece’s struggles with Buffalo. All prayers are needed and of course any monetary help is a blessing. They are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support they have been shown. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless you all.
