The pictures are simply heartbreaking. Two kittens found in a dumpster behind the Holiday Inn on Niagara Falls Boulevard in the Falls.
Two employees of the hotel spotted the kittens and called the SPCA of Niagara. The kittens had conjunctivitis in both eyes – normally it is treatable, but this infection went untreated for far too long. Their eyes were so bad they had to be removed.
The kittens – just five weeks old – are doing well now. They are together and are eating and being loved by those working and volunteering at the shelter.
As for how the kittens got into the dumpster, that is still being looked into. It is possible, according to folks at the SPCA, that the kittens weren’t dumped, but climbed in looking or food and got stuck. That being said, if you have ANY information on the kittens, please call the shelter or the Niagara Falls Police Department.
They are looking for a loving home to foster the kittens for now and do require they stay together. If you would like more information or if you would like to help by making a donation to the shelter so they can continue their amazing, life-saving work – you can call 731-4368.
