It’s a gesture that will make a big impact on many families in need this Thanksgiving holiday. Tops Friendly Markets has donated 110 turkeys to the “Helping Our Neighbors Food Drive.”
The donation was made to the Vietnam Veterans Food Pantry and the St. Francis Outreach Food Pantry in Tonawanda. This was the third year in a row that Tops has donated 110 turkeys to both organizations.
“With Thanksgiving right around the corner, our local grocery store has partnered with both organizations to ensure that families in need will have a warm Thanksgiving meal. We appreciate their donation and commitment to our community,” said City of Tonawanda Council President, Jenna Koch.
The food drive runs until November 18th. Anyone interested in donating Non- perishable items may do so at City Hall (200 Niagara Street), Senior Citizens Center (35 Main Street), Fire Department (44 William Street), or Partners in Art (79 Webster St).
Koch mentions that both the VVA and the St. Francis Food Pantry accept non-perishable donations throughout the year. “We have so much to be thankful for every day,” “Let us not forget the organizations that support our residents and community 365 days a year,” said Koch.
Way to be a good corporate citizen, Tops! Please help if you can!
