If you have clothes around your home that your kids have outgrown or no longer wear – here’s a great way to put them to great use.

There is an organization – a group of moms – working to help those struggling right now and they really need help.

Kerri Howell is hoping for a Christmas miracle – I don’t think she needs a miracle – she just needs all of us to come together!

Wear ‘n Share is a local organization, based out of Clarence, whose mission is to collect clothing for families who need it. Right now they are completely depleted of winter clothing and coats in boys size 10/12 and girls size 5 clothing. They are also light on boys shoes and boots in all sizes and need more winter coats in all sizes newborn through adult.

They have deliveries schedule for four families, but do not have anything warm to give them.

Kerri says this mission is a simple one – help those who need help, “We have two large homeless families to help this week which just breaks my heart, particularly this time of year when we are all caught up in the holiday celebration and then there are families like these that just long for a roof over their heads and clothing to keep them warm. I’m sure Christmas has a completely different meaning for families like these.”

It’s bitter cold out – and warmth from clothing and from feeling cared for – can help these families get through the winter and the holidays, “Just hoping to bring a little bit of the Christmas spirit into their world by letting them know there are people who care and that everyone deserves to feel the spirit of giving at Christmas.” Kerri hit the nail on the head – people need to feel like they are cared for, like they matter. Because they do.

If you have gently used clothing that you’d like to share with this amazing group of moms, you can drop it off at Epiphany UCC Community Outreach Center, 9365 Clarence Center Road in Clarence.  They’ll put your hand-me-downs to great use!

Kerri has hope that these families will be helped,”One thing to note, we are not a non profit, just a bunch of moms trying to help other moms who are struggling to make ends meet, which means we have no funding and we are completely dependent upon the generosity of our community to help our local kids in need.”

It’s simple really, they are just recycling clothing that is no longer needed and getting it into the hands of kiddos who can use them.

They are currently in need of summer and winter boys and girls clothing in 2T, 3T, 4T, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18.

Thank you!!!!!

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
