Forget the bad stuff. No sad, depressing, heartbreaking stuff for a sec. We’re just going to focus on these pictures; on this little boy and his hero.

Bethany Rohloff was so impress by the kindness of a New York State Trooper that she wanted to share it with everyone.
Bethany posted pictures on Facebook along with an explanation,
“With all the negativity surrounding police enforcement lately I just want to share these photos of my son and an amazing officer. I didn’t catch his name when he said it but we were out to eat and my son saw him and a couple other officers come in to eat. He wanted so badly to go say hello to them but we made him wait till they were finished eating. When they were done he excitedly ran over to the officer to say hello (then went all shy because he was meeting an actual hero/idol of his). Instead of just saying hi and going on his way he took him outside showed him his entire car let him sit front seat and play with the sirens. He let him wear a REAL police hat and gave him badges. My son was so excited he was shaking. He talked about this for the rest of the day and said he wants to grow up and be a police man just like him and help people and catch the bad guys! Just want to share a little bit of goodness to show it’s still out there!!!!”
Let’s face it, law enforcers can get a bad rap. The truth is – there are many amazing, dedicated men and women who risk their lives each and every day to keep us safe. There are many, too, who go above and beyond. This guy – he’s in that category.
How do I know?
Because I know him. That fella is NYS Trooper Keith Wesolek. He’s literally the nicest guy, an Uncle to my kids, a buddy to my husband and a friend to all. He happens to be married to another wonderful person, Heather Ly. Yep, that Heather – the anchor/reporter for Channel Two News. My sweet Emma was their flower girl when they vowed to love one another forever!
So, when I saw this post, I wasn’t at all surprised – there are good people in the world – and Keith is one of them! He does what he does to make a difference, to help others, and to keep us safe!! For that, we are forever grateful!
And can I just say – it’s AWESOME that a Police Officer/State Trooper is an actual hero/idol for a child these days! Bethany sure thinks so, telling me it makes her happy to know her little Aiden understands the bravery of those who protect and serve, “I LOVE that he loves police men and firemen! More people need to share their positive experiences with police rather than the negative which always seem to get the attention! I love that at 4 he wants to help people and protect people from bad guys.”

The day I got his ID at the fair! I truly believe he will become one once he grows up he’s had positive interactions with them when ever he meets them! This fellow Wes I believe the waitress called him did this out of the kindness of his heart and love of his job! I say thank you so much for making ayoung boy happiest kid ever talking to one of his hero’s!!

Please keep in your prayers, NYS Trooper Joseph Gallagher, a Buffalo boy, who is currently in a rehab facility in New Jersey as a result of his accident in December. He was helping another motorist at the time. He and his family are in need of continued prayers. God Bless NYS Troopers!
