Talk about an honest person.
Julie Landseadel Schmidt is on a mission to find the person who lost an envelope filled with money.
She posted on Facebook and has asked us to pass this along –
“I was at the Grey Street Plaza in East Aurora yesterday (MONDAY) and found an envelope from a banking institution on the ground. I proceeded to pick it up and look in it and found that someone had lost money. There were no receipts in it to give an account number to find the owner so I called said banking institution to see if we could narrow down who it might belong to. No such luck. They took my name and will call if someone calls about the money. I also checked with the stores in the area to see if anyone asked about lost money. No such luck. So, I reach out to facebook. If you know of anyone who lost money Monday afternoon, please have them contact me. They will need to tell me the name of the institution on the envelope and how much was in it. I really would love to find the owner of this money. Thank you!!!!!”
She’s not saying how much was in the envelope or giving any other information for obvious reasons. If you lost money or feel that it may be your envelope, you can contact Julie on Facebook.Â
Way to go, Julie. You’ve surely restored our faith in humanity!!!
Can we start guessing names and $ amounts if no one claims?
Haha, I keed..
Months ago I had cashed a check at key bank and it was in the bank envelope. It was just under $500 and I needed every cent. I stopped at Paula’s donuts to treat myself, I rarely did this. Getting home the money was GONE! I called and went back and searched but to no avail. THANK YOU for doing the right thing for someone else. It might just save the very roof over their heads!
