For 9-year-old Alicia – it’s been a very difficult few months. Alicia was diagnosed with a serious blood disorder when she was just three years old. She was getting a shot everyday to help, but things progressed, her system couldn’t fight anything off – her immune system was just too low. This past October Alicia had a week of strong Chemotherapy – followed by a bone marrow transplant. She’s been staying at the Ronald McDonald House of WNY since. Her home is in Irving, but she needs to be close to Roswell, so they will remain at the house until doctors give her the all-clear to go home.
It’s been a challenging time for the family. Alicia’s dad is home with her 7-year-old brother. The bills are mounting and the family is facing very difficult financial times.
We paid a visit to Alicia at Ronald McDonald House to drop off some surprises for her on Valentine’s Day! This little girl is absolutely adorable – smiling and happy even after everything she’s been through.
What a brave girl!!!!!!!!
Alicia’s mom, Sharon is incredibly grateful for the community support. The Lake Shore school district had a water collection drive for the family. Their home has well water – which Alicia can not drink due to her illness. They collected thousands of bottles of water for the family!
Now, we are hoping to get this family caught up on their mounting bills. Our hope is to help them actually get ahead so they don’t have to worry about anything except getting Alicia better! 100% of the money raised will go directly to help the family pay bills. HERE IS A LINK IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP. Every dollar will make a difference. We promise!
We know how supporting, caring and generous this community is!
Thank you!!!
