How do you define success?
For Christine Conte it’s about running a fabulous business, respecting a loyal staff, having fun, and giving back to the community.
Sounds perfect, right!?
Christine knows a thing or two about success, Vogue Back Bar & Salon is a very busy place – and no wonder, they do great work. But, it’s more than that. The salon is filled with the happiest staff – which to me, is quite extraordinary. I talked to Christine and picked her brain about her tricks of the trade. Her answer was fairly simple, “I treat my staff like family. We are close and I always encourage them. I appreciate them and it really is rewarding to see the work they do. We are one big, happy family.” Simple – maybe. Easy – no.
Christine has it down to a science, and the folks who benefit the most, of course, are the clients. There’s nothing worse than feeling awkward when you know there’s tension in the room. At Vogue, you don’t have that. It’s a great atmosphere. It’s pretty, clean and relaxing!
Maybe it’s the little things. Like the fact that they mix their colors in martini glasses! 🙂
Christine is a mom – and knows the struggles of parenting – so maybe she’s a bit of a softy when it comes to family issue that come up for staff!
Maybe the staff sees her give back to the community that gives them a sense of pride. I put out a call for help with a giveaway I was doing and Christine sent me a message right away – asking how she can help.
