This is one of those stories that will break your heart.

A Georgia woman who ran in the 10th Anniversary Disney Princess Half Marathon over the weekend – says she lost a cross pendant necklace filled with her daughter’s ashes.

Chasity Foster’s 17-year-old daughter, Shaylin was killed in a car crash on her way to school last month.

Before the tragic accident, Foster said the two used to run several marathons together; including the Disney marathon.

Both were signed up to run in the 10th Anniversary Princess Half Marathon on February 25th.  Foster was unsure about participating, but she did it – with her husband running along side. He even wore the Princess Anna costume Shaylin had bought to wear.

Foster says she was hesitant to wear the cross necklace with Shaylin’s ashes because it means so much to her, but she wanted her daughter to be there with her as she ran – so she put it on before running the race.

Foster realized mid-race that the necklace was gone. She searched, along with her family and friends, but wasn’t able to find it before heading back to Georgia.

I know plenty of Western New Yorkers ran in the race – and you never know when sharing a story like this could make all the difference. You never know when one share – might be the one that gets that grieving mother back that priceless necklace.
