UPDATE: The giant slalom competition is delayed due to weather – particularly strong wind gusts. It has been rescheduled for February 14th.

Derby’s own Tricia Mangan is set to take to the slopes tonight as she goes for gold in Pyeongchang . The 20-year-old Nardin graduate – who spent years learning to ski on the slopes of Western New York.

At just two years old, Tricia hit the bunny slopes at Holimont in Ellicottvile and she never looked back.

Tonight, she will ski her heart out with all of Western New York cheering her on!

The giant slalom first run begins at 8:15 p.m. and the second run begins at 11:45 p.m. NBC will have coverage of the first run during its 7 to 11 p.m. broadcast, although the action is not scheduled to air live. Live coverage of the second run is expected during the 11:35 p.m. to 1 a.m. broadcast.

Tricia’s mother, father and five siblings are all in South Korea to cheer on their Olympian!

By the way … when not on snow, Tricia is a biomedical engineering student at Dartmouth College.

Good luck, Tricia!!!!

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
