Emily Pfalzer is Buffalo’s newest Golden Girl and we are so excited to celebrate this incredibly talented hockey player.
In case you haven’t heard, Emily and the U.S women’s hockey team won gold in PyeongChang!!!!
According to her Olympic bio – the cold WNY winters helped get her started,
“At her childhood home in just north of Buffalo, NY, smack in the middle of Lake Erie’s infamous snowbelt, Pfalzer spent hours playing hockey on a rink her dad built each winter in the backyard, facing off against her two older brothers. She took her first steps in skates around the age of two and by four she was flying around the ice with stick in hand.”
Emily is 25, she graduated from Nichols School in Buffalo before heading off to Boston College.
Emily helped the Buffalo Beauts capture the Isobel cup in the NWHL’s second season. She was also named a top-100 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award in her senior year at Boston college!
She’s also played in three International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championships and helped the U.S. to three straight top finishes –
- 2017 – Plymouth, Michigan (gold)
- 2016 – Kamloops, British Columbia (gold)
- 2015 – Malmo, Sweden (gold)
Way to go, Emily! We can’t imagine how much work, time, blood, sweat and tears went into your Olympic Dream! We are all so proud of you!
