Mother and baby injured after firework malfunctions. Charges filed.

Charges have been filed after a woman and her baby were injured after a firework malfunctioned while a crowd of people looked on. Officials say a 38-year-old man was apparently setting off the fireworks when one started shooting fireballs. a 22-year-old woman and her six-month-old baby were both hit, suffering second degree burns.

The baby was taken to Women and Children’s Hospital around 10 p.m. on the 4th of July. The woman was taken to Sister’s Hospital.

It all happened on Westwood Road in Lancaster, according to the Lancaster Police Department.

Police confiscated the fireworks, and charges are pending in the case.

No word on the condition of either of the victims at this point.
