A staff physician from Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is being credited by police with saving the life of a toddler who was drowning in the swimming pool of a hotel in Montvale.,NJ. The incident took place Saturday and is recounted in the attached story from today’s New York Post”
The story in the Post goes on to say Dr. John Blundell was in the right place at the right time. Dr. Blundell revived a 3-year-old boy who was drowning at a hotel pool in New Jersey.
According to the police report – Dr. Blundell gave the boy — who was visiting from New York City with his family — CPR Saturday after a relative pulled the tot from the shallow end of a pool at the Courtyard by Marriott in Montvale.
Blundell specializes in internal medicine at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and was visiting the Garden State from Niagara Falls.
A Montvale officer who was less than a minute away when he was dispatched to the hotel then gave oxygen to the boy.
The young boy was taken to a hospital as a precaution – but was treated and released. It’s all thanks to a hero doctor who was in fact – in the right place at the right time!!
