Mandi Wahlers was living a happy, wonderful life – until one Sunday afternoon when she realized something was wrong. After a series of tests, Mandi was diagnosed with a type 2 Glioma Brain Tumor.

The mother and wife underwent surgery on July 30th where doctors were able to remove 80% of the tumor. Radiation and Chemotherapy followed and continue through October 6th.

After a short rest period,  Mandi will have another MRI to see what is left of the brain tumor.

Mandi is the mother of two beautiful children, Jackson and Lorelei, and the wife of Mike Wahlers.

Mike recently went back to work because, as you can imagine, it’s tough to pay bills without any household income.

Friends and family are hoping to help Mandi and Mike with this financial burden by hosting a fundraiser at the VFW in Hamburg. Mike Wahlers is a veteran who has served our Country.

A $20 Donation includes admission, food, beverages, and draft beer. Tickets available at the door or by calling Kara at (716)316-4938 or Amy at (716) 940-6839. There will also be a Chinese Auction and 50/50 raffles!  For more information and to donate a basket – CLICK HERE.

WHAT: Benefit to help family

WHEN: October 27, 2018 from 2-8 p.m.

WHERE: VFW, 2985 Lakeview Road, Hamburg

We are sending prayers to Mandi and her family. Please help them if you can – if not, simply share their story and let others know.

About Me

Welcome to Totally Buffalo! A local lifestyle website.

My name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am the creator of this site! I’m a wife, a mom, a grandma, a Buffalo booster, an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I’m so glad you stopped by.  After 20 years in the buffalo media, I went out on my own to tell stories about the people, places, events and all-around fabulousness of this wonderful place we call home. Buffalo is different and so is this site. We are here to share stories, encourage kindness, and help make this a better place to live.

We’ll help those in need when we can through our charity arm, Totally Buffalo Cares.

We help local small businesses, artisans and vendors though our events and our Totally Buffalo Stores.

We’ll do all of this with a little help from friends in our community.
