We first told you about little Francesca one year ago. She was diagnosed with Leukemia in February of 2017. She underwent chemotherapy at Roswell Park and then at home. She’s had a tough time, the little sweetie lost her hair – but not her spirit.
She’s a fighter. And her dad, Dominic Morabito sent me a message recently – with an update on his tough little girl, “Francesca is currently in maintenance with her leukemia, meaning she gets small daily doses of chemotherapy at home and a large dose once a month at Roswell. We also have an end of treatment date of August of 2019.”
Francesca has been really taking it all in stride. And her dad says doctors are pleased with her progress so far.
For Dominic – this experience has opened his eyes to the wonderful work done by organizations like Camp Good Days and Courage of Carly Fund – both of which did an awful lot for his little girl and for that, he is very grateful, “Courage for Carly Foundation, Camp Good Days, the Punt Foundation and several others have been awesome to us. Whether making sure our Christmas was special or going to Sabres games, we have been inundated with support from them. We had the benefit last June and the amount of people that came out was overwhelming. I think we maybe violated the occupancy limit for the hall we were at.”
Dominic says his church and community have also been very supporting, offering meals, gifts and emotional support as well.
We are sending loads of love and prayers to sweet little Francesca!
