Well, it seems like it was quite a birthday for former Miss Universe – Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters as she and her fiance’ Tim Tebow floated above the Mighty Niagara.
Tebow apparently took his beautiful lady on a sightseeing tour of Niagara Falls on Friday afternoon as part of her birthday celebration. Pat Proctor, who runs Rainbow Air posted photos of the gorgeous couple.
Nel-Peters herself posted on Instagram.
She also thanked Tebow in the post – writing:
“Thank you for celebrating life with me everyday and not just some days. I have to say though, today is extra special. I love you so much Tim Tebow.”
It seems Niagara Falls – which was once the Honeymoon Capital of the World – is still a romantic place of lovers!
This is – of course – not the first time Pat Proctor has flown celebrities. And yes, he does get star struck!
“First off, I have to tell you how humbled and how much of a great couple these two were!! I never thought in my wildest dreams I would have met 2 childhood idols and one modern day idol (who’s way younger than I am) in one month. Wayne Gretzky, Ron Guidry and now Mr. Tim Tebow.”
But he did. Pat tells me he got the call a while back and just hoped for good weather. The day arrived and it turned out to be a glorious day for a helicopter ride.
“We picked him up at Prior Aviation late morning as he drove in from Syracuse getting ready to play the Bison’s later in the evening. I didn’t know this, but his flight was a surprise birthday gift to his fiancée, Miss Universe 2017!! I was told before that Tim doesn’t do well in the air but has flown several times before but motion sickness is something he comes across really easily. He must of spoken to the heavens above because the air and winds (or lack of) were so smooth days like today is a pilot’s dream.”
Pat told us a bit about the trip. “We gave him and his fiancé the deluxe tour of the whole Niagara River from the start of it up near Buffalo and all the way to the opening of Lake Ontario and Fort. Niagara and then back again. They were in awe of the beauty and power of both the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls and couldn’t get over the rapids leading to the Whirlpool and churning into the Devil’s Hole. I gave them a narration hoping to keep Tim at ease but as soon as we took off he was super comfortable and caught up in the view just like the tourists we come across day in and day out. They tell us they have a fear of flying but once we take off and they see that body of water, it’s like a calming effect and even for as big of a man Tim Tebow is, that fear was gone once we took off and he saw the calming waters ahead.”
It was a great time.
“After landing back at Prior Aviation they both were grinning ear to ear and couldn’t wait to see the pics they both took. As I walked them off the tarmac and back inside to thank them for the opportunity, they beat me to it and thanked our company (Rainbow Air Inc.) for such an amazing flight. We exchanged handshakes and hugs and continued about our days. Tim and his fiancée went to the hotel to check in and get ready for his game this evening against the Bisons and the pilot (John Alspaugh) and I went back to normal routes above and around the Falls.”
Sounds like a perfect day!
