If you’re from Niagara Falls, you know who Mari Posa was. She was a local legend loved by everyone. She was the picture of grit, determination and hard work.
The owner of Mariposa’s World Famous Subs was never afraid of hard work. She knew the secret to success was never slowing down, and she didn’t. She worked well into her nineties. But, this icon of Niagara Falls was so much more than a business owner. She raised nine children and was known to remind everyone to make the best of everyday.
She did just that.
Mari Posa was certainly ahead of her time, working day in and day out making those famous submarine sandwiches. She embodied the American Dream, showed all of us what a true work ethic was. She loved what she did and made so many happy doing it.
I can remember going to Mariposa’s as a little girl, there was something so special about going there and talking to Mari. She was a pioneer, an inspiration and she will never be forgotten.
Rest in Peace, Mari.
