Darlene Ceglia’s Dance Project is located at 3370 Sheridan Drive in the Sheridan Center plaza at the corner of Sheridan Drive and Sweet Home Road in the Town of Amherst.
The event is being planned by two Ken-Ton School District high school students: Joanna Fiorella, who is entering her senior year at Kenmore East High School, and Justina Petrilli, who is entering her senior year at Kenmore West High School. Both Joanna and Justina are enrolled in Ken-Ton’s International Baccalaurate (IB) Program, which is offered at both high schools. They chose to work together to organize the event for their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) project, a major component of the IB curriculum.
“Speaking for Joanna and I, we both have a tremendous amount of faith in the younger generation and wanted to plan an event that brought kids and their families together for a good cause,” Justina said. “We are choosing to donate the proceeds to the cardio wing of Oishei Children’s Hospital specifically in honor of Joanna’s grandmother who has passed due to a heart condition. We hope that our project helps bring awareness to families of the amazing efforts of the medical staff at Oishei Children’s Hospital selflessly working with children every single day.”
