Once again, we aren’t shocked at all.
We are thrilled for Alannah Pionessa and for all of the babies in the NICU at Oishei Children’s Hospital!
Alannah was one of those babies – nine years ago. She was born 9 weeks early and spent 90 days in the unit where her parents read to her everyday and covered her with a nice, new, soft blanket.
All these years later, Alannah just wanted to give back. So she started a blanket and book drive last year for her 8th birthday. She blew her goal out of the water then and once again this year.
Get this. Are you ready… Alannah has collected 132 blankets and book bundles!!!17 totes filled with soft fleece blankets and adorable little books. They’ll all be donated to the hospital on Monday.
Think about that for a sec.
One little girl, with help from her family, friends and the community, will be help 132 parents as they care for their babies. She’ll be helping to keep 132 babies warm. She’ll be helping those moms and dads pass the time while reading a book to their sweet baby. One little girl. Amazing.
Thank you for your hard work Alannah and for reminding us that we can all make a difference in this world!!!! Happy Birthday!
Little Alannah is back – collecting blankets and books for sick babies. Can you help?
