Michelle Brennan has been dealt more than her share of challenges in life.
Michelle suffers from Nemaline Myopathy –Â Â a congenital, hereditary neuromuscular disorder with many symptoms that can occur such as muscle weakness, hypoventilation, swallowing dysfunction, and impaired speech ability.
Heather Curts is hoping to raise money for her dear friend, “She has been in a wheelchair her whole life and has never been able to walk,” says Heather, “She was born with this debilitating disease but has made the best of her life with it and is thriving. She was engaged but recently lost her fiance. She also is in the process of losing her only way to get put in the world. He handicapped van is falling apart and is very old. She really needs a replacement badly. She applied for a loan but didn’t qualify.”
There is good news – New York State will help with the conversion necessary once Michelle does get a vehicle. Family and friends have started a Gofundme to help raise the funds needed for Michelle to purchase a van. Her loved ones hope folks in our community can help, too. Every penny gets her that much closer to this life-changing goal.
“It will help her improve her quality of life and enjoy the little things we all take for granted everyday. Michelle is a ray of sunshine and is always positive. She is a friend to everyone and would give the shirt of her back if you needed it. Now she is in need and needs us to help. Please make this dream come true for her. She is very deserving of it.”
