One day Lisa Hodge took a class in copper enameling. She fell in love and was off and running. Copper & Glass Creations by Love the Buff was formed, “I then incorporated my love for the city of Buffalo by using a unique buffalo shape in my jewelry. I have since expanded my line to include unique shapes and designs. My work is ever evolving. I love to explore with color and design.”
For two years, the insurance underwriter has been using her creative side to make one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and pins. They’re stunning aren’t they?!
It’s quite a process, too, “I start with a copper shape, then I use powdered glass to make color and patterns and bake it on in a kiln at 1500 degrees, sometimes using multiple layers to achieve the look I am going for.”
Lisa’s inspiration is pretty obvious – just look around! A huge fan of Buffalo architecture, nature and everything else we are lucky enough to have here. Lisa makes much more than just Buffalo-themed merchandise, but she admits they’re her favorite; true to her heart. Her Buffalo key chains and ornaments are the most popular, but the options are pretty-much open ended; all made with love; Buffalove, “I handcraft everything in my home studio. Each piece is unique and made with love. I do not make anything I would not wear myself and I do wear my jewelry. I love what I do and have been told that it shows. My pricing is reasonable because I want everyone to be able enjoy it. Special orders are always welcome.”
Lisa says she loves what she does, loves taking it one the roads of Western New York, loves meeting new people and seeing first hand – the pride and love that folks have for Buffalo.
What’s next for Love the Buff, “I just finished a line of petite dot stud earrings called Candy Dots (reminiscent of the sheets of candy dots) in a variety of colors.”

Lisa will also be at the Totally Buffalo 716MAS Festival at Riverworks on December 2 and 3!
