Spotlight
You know him from his many projects over the years both on tv and radio - so what is Kevin Sylvester up to these days? We talk family, work, sports and date nights! Seriously - this dude is busy! Q: How’s the family? Everyone good? A: The family is good. Of course we’re like any other family, it’s a thrill ride! My daughter is now a freshman in high school, which I can’t believe, but she’s having a good year. My two boys, 12 and 7, are typical sports loving/video game playing/ joke telling boys. They are currently building their NERF GUN Arsenal, and we have some epic wars in the basement. I love it. My wife, God bless her, continues teaching. She’s the anchor, our rock. I don’t know how…

For Douglas DeWysocki, Jr., this is easily one of the most amazing weeks of his life. The 24-year-old is living out his dream, helping to make history, while being surrounded by it. Douglas graduated from Niagara Wheatfield before heading to John Carroll University where he majored in political science and minored in American history. With his degree in hand, there was only one place he wanted to be - our Nation's Capital. He interned for a Florida Congressman, and counted his blessings. If you aren't aware - interning at the Capitol is not a very glamorous job. It's very long hours and low pay - but, what you learn and the people you meet - make it all worth it. He's taken that experience and is running with it. Literally,…

Channel 4 reporter “gets” what Totally Buffalo means!

Good Neighbor
So, it's pretty cool that we are getting press for this site! Channel 4 called yesterday to set up an interview, which is amazing. I know an awful lot of wonderful journalists here in Buffalo, but I hadn't met Angela Christoforos yet. She showed up - with her camera, her tripod and everything else a multi-media journalist might need. Including a smile. She was sweet - but she's not from Buffalo - so I wasn't sure she'd get the Totally Buffalo concept. Angela is from Massachusetts. (Oh, i forgot to ask her if she's a Pats fan -but I'd assume so) I won't hold it against her. lol Anyway, I was totally surprised that she had it all figured out. Buffalo, I mean. In just a few short years, she…

Hidden Valley Animal Adventure Owner, “Died doing what he loved.” Family forges ahead after tragedy

News
It was a warm July evening, when Hans Boxler, Sr. went out to do what he'd been doing for years; feed the animals. His animals. He'd push some hay and throw some grain through the fence. It was standard practice. Tragically, it would be his last time. Boxler was trampled by an antelope that somehow escaped its pen. Barb Dominesey is the General Manager at Hidden Valley. She's also Hans Boxler's daughter. She hasn't talked about her father's death publicly, until now. "He died doing what he loved to do," Barb told me in a recent telephone interview. Often stopping to try and hold back tears, Barb talked with me about her fathers's death, but more importantly about his life, "He lived two lifetimes in one life." He was a man of…
